Church of the Holy Crucifix

The church was originally a small chapel built on the slopes of San Marco hill by the Marquis Luigi Trigona della Floresta, Baron of San Cono.

Until 1899, the old cemetery was on the north side of the building. The church was enlarged and restored at the beginning of the 20th century by the surveyor Salvatore Novello of Mirabella Imbaccari and thanks to Giuseppa Traversa of San Michele di Ganzaria.

The building has a single nave with a rectangular hall and ends with a semicircular apse covered by a barrel vault.

On the sides of the nave there are two marble altars dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows and to St. Calogero, of whom there is a statue.

The floor is covered with polychrome cement tiles decorated with floral motifs.
