Vizzini Castle

Located on the hill overlooking the city, the 18th-century castle was rebuilt on the site of a pre-existing
Norman fortress destroyed in the earthquake of 1693.

Until the late 1970s it was the seat of the Bourbon prison and the former mandatory prison.

After a period of neglect, it was recovered by the Municipality in the early 2000s to be used for social, artistic, craft and cultural activities.
