Adinolfo Gate

The old market gate is the only one still standing of the five gates that gave access to the town within the medieval walls.

Restored in the 18th century, it is dedicated to Adinolfo, a local hero who led the revolt of the Sicilian Vespers in Mineo.

On either side of the building there is a tower surmounted by a sun, representing the Ducezio Castle and the ancient temple of the Sun god.
