Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

After the earthquake of 1908, which destroyed the Mother Church of Mirabella Imbaccari, a warehouse belonging to Salvatore Politini was temporarily used for the celebration of liturgical rites.

Hence the decision to transform the site into a place of worship, officially opened to the devotion of the faithful on
May 1st, 1909.

Later, the church was enlarged, provided with a bell tower, decorated and paved with Venetian cement tiles.

The baptismal font in Carrara marble by the sculptor Pucci dates from 1940, while the wooden Crucifix by Vincenzo Moroder from Ortisei dates from 1953.

The building has three rectangular naves, of which the central one is covered by a barrel vault supported by round arches resting on large columns.
